The Inauguration doesn’t just display the start of a new presidency, it also is a big night for fashion. With the Inauguration fast approaching, we thought it was a perfect time to look at gowns from the past and pick our favorites.
Michelle Obama, 2009
In 2009 Michelle Obama wore a flowy white gown designed by Jason Wu. Jason Wu first launched his collection in 2007, however many say his success skyrocketed thanks to Michelle inaugural entrance. She chose Jason Wu again in 2013.
Pat Nixon, 1969
Pat chose a bright yellow dress with an embellished jacket for the 1969 celebration. She chose accessories that perfectly matched the dress.

Jackie Kennedy is well known for her fashion choices and still influences many designers today. She also played a role in designing her dress.

Hillary Clinton, 1993
Hillary wore a long sleeve purple gown covered in lace and rhinestone embellishments. The dress was designed by an Arkansas designer, Sarah Phillips. Many say she wore the dress to pay homage to Bill’s home state.
